Also known as the butterfly effect, the saying can trace its origins back to a Chinese proverb.
The irony is not lost on us, as the tightly interconnected world of global finance seems to be on the cusp of a storm caused by the simultaneous flapping of butterfly wings across every major economy on the globe – but the strongest winds are blowing out of China.
