Despite the sudden outbreak of war and a shortened trading week, markets were relatively subdued.
Stocks waited until the last day of the week to pullback, meanwhile bonds finally caught a bid as the Fed minutes revealed a more dovish outlook.
Yet, the “real” stand-out for the week was GOLD.
One might think this stands to reason, given gold’s history over thousands of years as the ultimate safe haven.
With the attacks on Gaza intensifying it is easy to make an argument for the increased demand for gold, but after a closer at this week’s price action there is cause for concern that a sharp pullback could be looming.
